Which DK yarn should I choose?
Weight: Start with the DK weight specified by your pattern. For a substitute, compare fibre, tension and total metres needed, not just the number of balls.
Fibre: Compare acrylic options such as Special DK and Bambino, cotton or bamboo-and-cotton options, and the wool blend in Knit Me, Crochet Me. Match the fibre to the finish and feel you want.
Project: For multicolour blankets, start by exploring Special DK's 102 listed colourways. For baby projects, compare Bambino, Snuggly and Baby Blossom against your pattern's fibre and care requirements. For cotton projects, compare Snuggly Cotton with Naturals Bamboo + Cotton.
